Harpsichord, an ancestor to the piano, was one of the widely used instruments in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Due to the lack of availability of harpsichords on the market, many of the baroque pieces can only be played on the piano today. However, the harpsichords reveal a more genuine sound of baroque than contemporary pianos.

 

Formed by a group of music enthusiasts and experts, HKHA aims to promote the authentic Baroque style of music through the beautifully decorated Harpsichords. As well as harpsichord courses, the academy offer both Western and Chinese instrumental music courses.

本學院由一群專業音樂導師創立，以推動與普及「古鍵琴」為宗旨，並附以各類中、西樂器教授之音樂學校。

「古鍵琴」形似三角琴，是一種以撥弦發聲的樂器，具有獨特的音質與典雅外觀，流行於文藝復興及巴洛克時期。可惜，隨著鋼琴的普及，古鍵琴便在音樂發展史上，消失近150年。直至20世紀中期，較多學者開始研究早期音樂，才重新為人認識。

 

今天，香港能接觸「古鍵琴」的方法，十分局限，甚或稱為貧乏。有見及此，本院特從意大利訂製不同類型的 「古鍵琴」，開拓渠道，與一眾愛樂之士，沉醉於這美妙的音樂世界。
